the 4 bedroom 'cube' home..... for you!
As always this house can be built with many different materials, but by designing the house we also had some materials in mind:
- the outside walls could be made out of insulated pre-fab concrete panels (which would ensure a hurricane safe house and would also cut down building time and last but not least reduce jobsite waste), if desired you could add a siding material or leave the concrete just as it is
- the roof should have a minimal pitch and should be made out of metal, there's an approximate 4' overhand and the roof could get - anchored to the ground with steel cables.
- semi translucent curtain wall systems deliver an exceptional insulation and still allow some light into the room but, there are may color variations available
- as an alternative to curtain walls, metal-frame-windows are a good solution as well and don't 'break the bank'
- the floor material on the first floor be concrete, stone or hardwood, in the bedroom area for example hardwood or marmoleum (click here for more information on marmoleum)
- once more the materials above are just suggestions and the end user's input is necessary
